A new ACEs Connection Community, Phoenix Rising In Resilience, is starting today as an online platform to discuss local ACEs, trauma and resilience work beginning to grow in Phoenix, as well as to address the issue of historical trauma in some depth, given the unique context of this city.
Iya Affo has volunteered to be the "emcee" of this community- acting as community manager and sharing stories of how Phoenix is becoming trauma informed and resilient. She is very knowledgeable about ACEs science as well as the specific topic of historical trauma and how it intersects with ACEs.
If you live in the Phoenix area, please feel free to post about the trauma informed practices and initiatives happening in the region. And for those interested in discussing historical trauma, as well as learning more about the multi-ethnic communities that have both struggled and sought refuge and healing from historical trauma in this area, feel free to visit and participate in this community!
