GOP: Shop Around for Surgery [TheAtlantic.com]

Obamacare’s days are numbered. That was the message of the executive order President Donald Trump signed Friday, instructing government agencies to “minimize the unwarranted economic and regulatory burdens of the [Affordable Care Act].”

When I spoke with a handful of Trump supporters after the inauguration Friday, they said they eagerly awaited Obamacare’s end. Tanya, a woman from Virginia who was rolling a walker down I Street to the inaugural parade, said she was struggling with her $6,750 deductible. “As a business person who is self-employed, it’s killing me,” she said.

Nearby, Marlita Gogan, from Houston, said she just wants Trump to “do what he says”—repeal and replace Obamacare. Her daughter’s insurance premium has risen from $250 to $375, with a $5,000 deductible. “It’s too much,” she said. “You can’t even use it.”

Hi, Nathan:

Here are some tips on how to control your email notifications. I'll send you this via email, too, so expect one more ding on your phone!

If you want to receive only the weekly roundup, unsubscribe from the daily digest you received today. (The daily digest and the weekly roundup are sent to you via MailChimp.)

If you want to control the email notifications you receive about activity on ACEsConnection.com, here are some options:

If you want to suspend all emails, do this:

(If you do this, you can check in daily and scroll through the Activity section or just the blog posts.)

If you want to be more selective, do this:

Hello Miss Sangenito,

I signed up for the aces connection earlier this week. I was very excited
to stay informed about these issues. I am a therapist that specializes in
working with kids and families that have been through trauma. I was excited
to hear about events and find out about articles that can expand my
knowledge base. All the emails you sent me are right on key they're the
kind of things I'm definitely looking forward to learning more about. The
problem is you're sending me close to 20 emails a day. That is too much too
much to wrap my mind around and it fills my inbox. I'm wondering if you've
ever thought of sending one email a day that could have all 15 to 20 links
in it. That way it wouldn't fill up my inbox. Right now my phone vibrates
and dings every time you send an email. I will breed to either have to move
the aces connection into a folder in my Google account, which means I'll
never see it. Or unsubscribe. Both of these options seem like good ones to
me because I am really excited for the information you sent. Please rethink
how many emails you send and see if there's another way to make it more
accessible to people. Thanks

Nathan Swanson
