Who are we? What's our interest in ACEs? Part 7

As people have joined the network, I've asked them to provide some information about their interest in ACEs. Here are another three: Denise Dowd, Bruce McCulley and John Records. Some of the responses are shortened, so there's a link to their page to read more about them, friend them and/or send a message.

Denise Dowd, Kansas City, MO - Denise, a pediatric emergency physician and  a child advocate, says that her work over the past two decades "makes ACES so tangible for me." The current focus of her work is to translate adversity neurobiology concepts into practical applications. She'd like to contact others with similar goals.

Bruce McCulley, Nevada City, CA - Bruce owns Cavalcade Productions, a video production company. Since 1989, he's focused on issues related to child abuse and psychological trauma. In late 2003, he saw Robert Anda give a presentation about the ACE Study, and "was very much impressed by the power of its findings." In 2005, Cavalcade released a DVD series featuring Anda and Vincent Felitti.

John Records, Petaluma, CA - John, executive director of COTS (Committee on the shelterless), works with people experiencing homelessness. "We have been teaching them about their ACEs, to help them understand what has happened to them and, for parents, to support them in protecting their children from ACEs."
