After learning about the Portland, Oregon pediatric practice that started giving the ACE test to PARENTS at pre and post natal meetings...I thought we were on the edge of a GIANT breakthrough.  Where else do we have the opportunity to PREVENT ACEs?  Once trauma is inflicted, ACEs become a scorecard of sadness and long term harm.  The medical community so far has disappointed me with their blind eye to the reality of ACEs.

Hurt people...hurt people.  Until we understand the significance of this simple statement, more children will be subjected to trauma simply because we didn't care or move fast enough on the prevention side.

Does anyone have MONETARY figures as to the expense that is caused by the necessary treatments and social services needed to help treat and reverse the effects of ACEs on our general population?  It is tragically sad that is often takes exposure to the dollars wasted somewhere to actually effect change to our systems.  PREVENTION is the most important effort we need to make in the fight against ACEs...helping before hurting should be the norm!  Wake up world and save hearts one at a time...before they are broken!

Let me know where I can help in this way...I am ALL IN on this concept.

The Greatful Dad!
