Thank you!  Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is another modality that can be used with children to help settle down whatever is going on in the background that disrupts their learning process.

The beauty of EFT is once the child learns how to "tap" s(he) has a emotional and behavioral regulating tool for life! It's a win-win for all involved.

We do really need to begin paying closer attention to every child's behavior.

thanks for this piece!  another word we rarely hear or see used is grief - as a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, I talk about trauma and grief all the time - and in my simplified definition - trauma is what happens (or doesn't happen) to us and grief is what remains - and lingers - unless addressed.  And we address that lingering grief by going back to explore the traumas - all the way back to our birth.  Through the Grief Recovery Method - participants are given tools and skills for going back to those traumas, to talk about them, to name them, and then indeed to frame them and then to address them and give them voice and to take actions needed to recover from them.  We talk in our training about being a storage tank or a processing plant when it comes to these traumas and griefs... and for far too many of us we try to be storage tanks... until the cork pops and results in either physical, mental or emotional dis-ease sufficient to reduce our ability to live whole, healthy and happier lives.  The GRM teaches us how to be processing plants - not just with the griefs of our past, but with those that continue to happen in our lives in the present and future.  I encourage you to visit www.griefrecoverymethod.com and find Grief Recovery Method programs and specialists in your area - these programs can be truly life-changing... and often life-saving.
