"Warriors of HOPE" Series Continues This Sunday on "Breaking the Silence" Radio Program with Special Guest, Judge Steven Teske!

 

The fourth week of the 6-week "Warriors of Hope" event will continue this Sunday night at 8 pm Central Time on "Breaking the Silence with Dr. Gregory Williams" radio program.  This 6-week event features six very special guests that will offer their insight on the power of HOPE in their lives and provide encouragement, wisdom and insight on the need for resilience in lives today.  This series has resulted in praise from around the world from the listeners that have tuned in.

This week's guest is Judge Steven C. Teske:

*April 26th, Judge Steven C. Teske. 

Judge Steven C. Teske is the Chief Judge of the Juvenile Court of Clayton County, GA. He was appointed juvenile court judge in 1999 and also serves as a Superior Court Judge by designation. Teske has testified before Congress on four occasions and several state legislatures on detention reform and zero tolerance policies in schools.

The Governor has appointed him to the Children and Youth Coordinating Council, Governor’s Office for Children and Families, DJJ Judicial Advisory Council, JDAI Statewide Steering Committee, Georgia Commission on Family Violence, and the Georgia Criminal Justice Reform Commission. He served two terms on the Federal Advisory Committee for Juvenile Justice and is the National Chair of the Coalition for Juvenile Justice. He is a member of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and has served on the Board of Directors. He is past president of the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges and the Clayton County Bar Association.

He has written several articles on juvenile justice reform, including his model on school[justice partnerships published in the Juvenile and Family Law Journal, Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing, Juvenile Justice and Family Today, Family Court Review, and the Georgia Bar Journal. His book, Reform Juvenile Justice Now, is a collection of essays on juvenile justice issues.

Judge Teske is the 2018 recipient of the Juvenile Law Center Leadership Prize Award.

He is a Toll Fellow of the Council of State Governments and received his J.D., M.A., and B.I.S. degrees from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Judge Teske is an adjunct law professor at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, GA.

*May 3rd, George E. Miller, II, Child Advocacy Artist.  George is a child advocacy artist, guest speaker and classroom presenter whose artwork reflects his abiding love for children and tremendous respect for those who educate and care for them. A gifted conceptual artist, George creates strong, loving images using fun, bold colors, to help solve problems that plague our communities, schools and families. For example, George has created the wonderful masterpiece “Each One Teach One: Bringing Down the Walls of Illiteracy”, to help bring attention to the huge problem of illiteracy. In 2015 this work of art was selected by Florida First Lady Ann Scott to be displayed in the Governor’s Mansion in Tallahassee.

*May 10th, SPECIAL LIVE 2-HOUR TV/WEBCAST EVENT.  This 2-hour LIVE event will feature all the guests above and will focus on HOPE and resilience.  The program will take viewer calls and will give viewers encouragement and inspiration to those that have experienced trauma, abuse and pain in their lives.

All of these 6 programs will feature a special "co-host" to the program:  Joe and Dardi Hendershott.  The Hendershotts are authoring a new book called, "Warriors of Hope" which will feature a chapter each on these guest along with Dr. Gregory Williams.  Joe and Dardi have also authored the book, "Supporting the Wounded Educator."  Joe and Dardi founded "Hope 4 the Wounded" conferences, training and workshops.
