This chart was developed during a Design Team within United Way of East Central Iowa (Cedar Rapids, Iowa).  We had various community leadership meetings for several months. With this graphic, it was culmination of input and information re: who is serving our children in the continuum of general population information re: ACEs and prevention work and works upwards towards more targeted and intense interventions. The highest intervention, of course, being system involvement (Juvenile Justice, Human Services, treatment/placement of children)

It was our first effort to 'map out' who is focused on components of ACEs work from birth to age 18 (and some in conjunction with work with parents, schools, other leaders and providers).  From this chart we are now prioritizing our areas of focus with ongoing workgroups to devise targeted efforts that will impact children/families that have ACEs in the middle range to prevent further intensive services and build resiliency in the child, family, school, youth development programs, practitioners, etc...   I hope that clarifies this graphic as it was the work of many mental health, education, social service, and community partners in getting a better grasp on what is going on and where we can have the most impact in our UWECI area. Let us know if you have any suggestions or resources for programs/interventions that are evidence based or promising practices re: Trauma informed youth development programming or interventions to enhance resiliency. As we are now moving into more clearly defining a more strategic approach to ACEs/TIC in our area. Thank you!  Ana Clymer- United Way of East Central Iowa (Community Building- Health Manager)
