The Family and Children's Trust Fund of Virginia celebrates 35 years!

This week the Family and Children's Trust Fund of Virginia will be celebrating our 35th Anniversary! FACT was created by the General Assembly in 1986 as a public-private partnership to raise funds for the prevention and treatment of family violence, including child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse and neglect.

For the last 35 years, FACT has provided funding for hundreds of programs focused on preventing and treating family violence through the power of direct donations from public and private sources, revenue from the sale of the KIDS FIRST license plates, and voluntary donations on state income tax returns. Since 2003, we have raised approximately $5 MILLION to support local efforts across Virginia. Starting in 2012, FACT has been supporting the Trauma-Informed Community Network movement with financial and technical support.

FACT 35th Anniversary Fundraiser

In honor of our 35th anniversary, we have a goal to raise $10,000 for the opportunity to provide TWO additional emergency fund grants to our TICNs. Please go to fact.virginia.gov/donate and put “FACT Anniversary” in the In Honor Of box. Every donation matters and is tax deductible. To honor our 35 years, you can donate $35, $350, or even $3500.

We ask that once you finish donating, you please share with family, friends, and colleagues to encourage them to donate as well. The social media toolkit can be found on our anniversary website page to help you engage with folks about why this work is so important.
