Teen finds cancer diagnosis less stressful than memories of childhood abuse

“Everybody has times in their lives when they’re like, ‘Why has this happened to me?’ And from everything I’ve been through I’ve gotten to the point where it’s like, it happened, so what?” says Lena, who, since April, has been cancer-free. “Cancer never bothered me at all, versus with sexual abuse it’s like that happened and it’s still haunting me.”
