Teen Cyberbullying Linked to Depression [PsychCentral.com]

A new review of social media studies suggests children and adolescents who reported being bullied online are at an increased risk for depression.

 

Currently, the median percentage of children and adolescents who reported being bullied online is 23 percent, say researchers from the University of Alberta, Canada.

 

Social media is a ubiquitous extension in the lives of young people, with reports indicating 95 percent of American teenagers use the Internet and that 81 percent of them use social media.
