Systems of Trauma: Sexism & Trauma

To wrap up Women's History Month, the Family and Children's Trust Fund of Virginia has released the latest issue brief. Since 2019, FACT has been working on an issue brief series focused on Systems of Trauma. This issue brief series broadens its focus from the individual to the societal level and explores how societal injustices interconnect and exacerbate individual toxic stress caused by family violence.

Previously in the series, we have released issue briefs on Racial Trauma and Economic Trauma. This latest addition to the series focuses on Sexism and Trauma.

We will be hosting a virtual “Coffee Chat” next Thursday March 31st, 2022 10-11 a.m. (EST) which will include a panel of Editorial and Planning Committee members who helped to put together the brief. Please email taylor.davis@dss.virginia.gov to get the log-on information.
