I wrote,
An entirely new kind of parenting education that reaches everyone, everywhere could solve many problems. People who experienced unsupportive and harmful parenting often engage in behaviors that hurt themselves and others.
They make poor life choices more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They abuse drugs more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They choose abusive partners more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They bully others more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They become homeless more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They abuse their own children more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They commit crimes more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They experience mental health issues more often than people who had wonderful parents.
They cost their communities billions of dollars.
This is not to say that everyone who experiences unsupportive and harmful parenting is doomed. Many survive their childhood and thrive...but the above facts remain.
