Spoken Poetry Binge (www.buttonpoetry.org)

ACEs Connection had some time off. It's been restful and I've been filling myself up with poetry which is what I always turn to in times of celebration or sorrow, in times of wordless longing or abundant grace.. or when I simply am feeding on inspiration and experiences.

I always marvel at how people can make beautiful truth even in the midst of pain, confusion or despair and the way words and thoughts never before said or put together immediately seem perfect, timeless and truer than anything. I love being stirred, challenged, comforted and always connected to and with lives, perspectives and experiences - even if only for a moment - that I know something-nothing-everything about.

Here are some of the Button Poetry videos that have touched me this morning.

William Evans: They love us here

Andrea Gibson: The nutritionist

Nia Lewis. Can you hear me?

Rudy Francisco: The complainers

Writing to heal. And to help others get a sense of what it takes, some days, for some of us humans to be alive in the world.

This post calls me to “seek first to understand.”

Or at least listen.

Thanks for sharing, Cissy!
