Shaken Baby Syndrome -- not an easy diagnosis

That's according to this interesting article by Maia Szalavitz in Time.com' Healthland. It examines the validity of SBS diagnosis, and the reliability of the evidence behind it. It brings up other causes that may mimic SBS.

"Osteogenesis imperfecta affects just 1 in 20,000 births; there are thousands of similarly rare disorders that can cause infant death, many of which have not been studied significantly."

To add to this discussion, the Vitamin D Council posted a story about what may be a case of rickets being misdiagnosed as child abuse.
