Seeking Federally - Employed Physicians to Peer Review Trauma-Informed Care eCases

The U.S. Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health and Med-U are seeking Federally-Employed Physicians to Peer Review electronic case-based learning modules.

The purpose of Trauma-Informed Medicine (www.traumainformedmedicine.org) e-cases initiative is to produce and implement a comprehensive set of online, interactive clinical cases for healthcare providers. These cases focus on the impact of trauma (abuse and neglect) and how healthcare practitioners can provide trauma-informed care for a diverse array of populations.

TIMe’s first cases were completed in the fall of 2015 and new cases are planned through 2017. We are now seeking Peer Reviewers for a soft pilot launch of the first set of cases. Specifically we are looking for Federally-Employed Physicians to review the cases.

This set of virtual patient cases are designed to help primary care physicians and advanced practice clinicians provide more informed care for people affected by disclosed or undisclosed trauma.

We are looking for volunteers willing to provide peer review for these online cases. The cases have undergone editing and expert review, but have not been reviewed by representatives of the intended audience - primary care clinicians.

Each case is about 10 html pages long plus 2-5 associated post-case assessment questions. Additionally, on completing the case reviews we’ll need you to complete a quick survey regarding your experience.

Depending on the number of cases you review, we expect that reviewing the cases, taking the assessments and Pilot survey will take you 2-4 hours. In appreciation of your assistance with this limited Pilot, MedU will be pleased to provide a letter acknowledging your participation and assistance.

All inquiries should be made to Nancy Tobi, MedU Director of Curricular Operations and Instructional Design, at:

 nancy.tobi@med-u.org  (tel: 603-315-4500).
