Register for the 2016 Conference on Adverse Childhood Experiences

Join Center for Youth Wellness October 19-21 for the 2016 Conference on Adverse Childhood Experiences in San Francisco. The conference is a unique opportunity for every expert and practitioner committed to advancing the ACEs movement to come together to build a better future for children exposed to early adversity and trauma.

The 2016 theme is “Awareness to Action.” Over the past few years, understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences has greatly expanded among professionals working with children and the general public. The American Academy of Pediatrics is speaking about ACEs, Jamie Redford’s “Resilience” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and forums like ACEs Connection are connecting people and raising awareness. Now professionals from across all sectors are coming together to supercharge their collective efforts to imagine, create, implement and evaluate the most promising practices and policies to support children exposed to early adversity.

As a participant, you’ll have the chance to connect with colleagues in health, early childhood education, child welfare, juvenile justice, education, policy, research and philanthropy. You’ll hear from inspirational advocates like Flint, Michigan pediatrician Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, Equal Justice Initiative Founder Bryan Stevenson and CYW Founder and CEO Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, as well as dozens of practitioners across all sectors.

Don’t miss this chance to be a part of inspiring, innovating and implementing integrated systems to support the whole child. Register for the 2016 Conference on Adverse Childhood Experiences today.

Hi, Linda: This is a California conference. There's been only one national conference so far, and that was in 2013. I hope there will be a national conference in 2017, but I haven't that one is being planned.

Do you know where this conference will be held in 2017?  The cost to fly to SF and stay in a hotel is pretty restrictive for a non-profit in New Hampshire.  Is it possible that it will be on the east coast next year?

I hope the legislators in Vermont, who supported or co-sponsored the 2013 House Bill 762, requiring all health care providers to screen ALL patients-regardless of age, for ACEs, will share their updates with legislators from other states.....
