Petition to add C-PTSD to the DSM-5's next edition

https://www.change.org/properd...meanspropertreatment

The DSM is a diagnostic manual controlled by the APA (American Psychological Association) that is made side by side with the ICD (also a diagnostic manual, controlled by WHO {World Health Organization}). Different parts of the world use different manuals, some use both. The ICD will begin it's 11th edition as of 2022 and will include C-PTSD as a diagnosis! C-PTSD has never been an official diagnosis before this. The DSM-5 has refused before to add C-PTSD as a diagnosis before but typically caves to WHO and ICD recommendation - so it's possible they could and would add it! My goal in this petition is to show not only does data support a C-PTSD diagnosis separate from a PTSD diagnosis, not only do scientists and WHO (world health organization) support a C-PTSD diagnosis, but also the general public supports it too!

The CPTSD Foundation signed our petition as an organization, and it has been shared in DID and OSDD as well as other trauma based disorder communities. I have heard nearly 100 stories of misdiagnosis and being tossed through systems not made for people with complex trauma, and I am so incredibly humbled by allies and survivors alike who have signed, shared their stories, and are aiding our efforts to get this in the next edition of the DSM-5. Please think about singing my petition to show your support!
