Newark Today: Becoming A Trauma Informed City [wbgo.org]

On this month's Newark Today we'll be talking about the city's efforts to become a trauma informed city by 2020. The discussion comes on the heels of NJTV News' five part series Trauma's Tragedy and Treatment, by host Michael Hill. We'll be joined by Keri Logosso-Misurell, Executive Director of the Greater Newark Healthcare Coalition and Healthy Greater Newark ACO, Keesha Eure with The Newark Anti-Violence Coalition, and Barbara Neal Chief Program Officer South Ward Children's Alliance. The discussionwill focus on how tragedy and childhood trauma can effect everything from the overall health of communities, to education, poverty rates, and rates of violent crime.
