Finding child care is a challenge for most parents, so imagine if you're in the military and uprooting your family constantly. A recently launched Department of Defense website aims to help ease the child care search.

"Service members move on average every two to three years," said Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen, a Defense Department spokeman.

"This website will allow people to go on and see what’s close to them," he said. It's a service that can provide peace of mind for military parents as they move from one location to the next.

MilitaryChildCare.com aims to simplify the process of finding child care. The website allows customized searches based on factors like the age of a child to meet individual family needs. Families can create a profile, see what child care locations are close by, apply to the centers they like and monitor applications online, according to Christensen.
