New trauma and arts organization seeks board members

Bluer Sky Advocates is a new nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide cash grants and other support to artists and creators working in any medium who are creating works that show accurate depictions of people healing from trauma.

The leadership of Bluer Sky Advocates seeks people with backgrounds in dance, film, visual art and music who are also interested in trauma healing to join the board of directors. Directors are part of a working board, engaged in fundraising and in seeking and selecting projects to support. The seven existing board members include several therapists, a number of writers, a musician/composer/producer, a theater director, an actor, a former singer, a former costume designer, and a couple of political activists.

The organization's tax-exempt status was granted in late 2021. This is an opportunity to help shape a new organization that could make a difference both for creative people and for people suffering from the effects of past trauma, for whom art will make a difference.

The organization's website is https://bluersky.net/. To speak with a current board member/founder and learn more, contact Liz Schiller at liz.schiller@gmail.com
