New Resources for Leading Transformation - full text

Three papers on trauma-informed systems and communities published by the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services.

The Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services has published a series of three brief papers that offer change leaders in organizations, systems and communities:

  • A rationale for finding integrated, collaborative ways of addressing trauma and its effects on system and community levels
  • A description of a system-wide behavioral health trauma transformation initiative
  • Lessons learned thus far in one city’s transformation process in the realm of trauma-informed behavioral health approaches

Papers in this series are directed at broad audiences that include system and community leaders, behavioral health and allied human service practitioners and the full range of change agents within systems and communities.  Thus far the series includes:

  1. Safety, Strength, Resilience and Recovery:  Trauma-informed Systems and Communities
  2. Seeding a System’s Response to Trauma:  Philadelphia’s Integrated Network of Trauma-informed and Trauma-focused Behavioral Health Care
  3. Meeting Trauma with Transformation:  The Evolution of Philadelphia’s Behavioral Health Response
