New Resource: Prevention Data Brief: Adverse Childhood Experiences and Substance Use Among Teens in California, 2021

 

“Prevention Data Brief: Adverse Childhood Experiences and Substance Use Among Teens in California, 2021” is a new resourced developed in partnership by the California Department of Public Health, Injury and Prevention Branch (CDPH/IVPB) and the California Department of Social Service, Office of Child Abuse Prevention’s (CDSS/OCAP)’s, Essentials for Childhood (EfC) Initiative; and with input from the CDPH Substance and Addiction Prevention Branch; and the California Tobacco Prevention Program. The purpose of this resource is to report statewide prevalence and association of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and substance use among teens in California utilizing 2021 California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) data.

We are excited to share this resource with all those who are interested in preventing violence, addressing substance use, work for local health departments, or work within child-serving systems.
