Memphis has always been a place for new ideas, of course music but so much more than that.
Holiday Inn's were founded here. Bayer Aspirin, AutoZone, and FedEx grew up here and the list goes on and on.
Next Monday, April 20, another new idea will launch in Memphis: the nation's first Universal Parenting Places.
If you want to know why they are important just take a look at the teenage mob beat down that took place April 10 at a Crosstown gas station. What sparks that kind of behavior? Is it bad parenting or no parenting at all?
Psychologists told FOX13 News that if children are not taught, almost from birth, the difference between right and wrong and that bad actions do have consequences, this is much too often the result: chaos.
To help turn the tide, there will be Universal Parenting Places, or "Judgement Free Zones." It's a project spearheaded by Baptist Memorial Hospital For Women and Knowledge Quest where parents can receive free professional counseling, information and emotional support for family-related issues.
