Netherlands tops for child well-being

"The Netherlands ranks first and Romania last among 29 developed countries examined in a UNICEF report on the well-being of children that warns budget-slashing governments to spare a thought for future generations.

"Nordic countries held the rest of the top five places in a survey by the United Nations Children's Fund based on criteria of material well-being, health and safety, education, behaviour and risk, housing and environment.

"Britain was ranked 16th and the United States 26th....

"UNICEF said most of the data in the report was from 2010...."
