National Sexual Assault Conference Aug. 28 - 30, 2013 - ACEs Was in Every Workshop!

If you ever wonder if the word is spreading about how toxic childhood trauma is affecting lives, and whether the ACE Study data is reaching people in the trenches of rape crisis centers, child advocacy centers, clinicians, detention psychologists, physicians, and people like me working toward the prevention of child sexual abuse in youth-serving organizations, let me tell you this: IT IS!

Whether it was mentioned as part of a workshop presentation, mentioned by workshop attendees, or brought to the attention of those professionals struggling to show connections between adverse childhood experiences (untreated trauma) and the violence permeating through their doors, I was very proud to say that MOST attendees of the NSAC meeting in Los Angeles did in fact know about the study and its impact. And those who were NOT aware of the study quickly wrote down this web site and the ACE Study information with deep appreciation.

It's safe to say that ACEsConnection.com WILL continue to grow as long as we keep spreading the word about it.  I expect our membership to grow as a direct result of the NSAC!  Next year's conference will be in Pittsburgh, PA, from August 20-22, 2014. I look forward to spreading the ACEs word to many more professionals helping adults and children with traumatic pasts.
