For years I've said parenting needs to be taught in schools, starting in about the second grade. Seriously! I would imagine getting anyone to agree on the curriculum would take an act of Congress, in which case we're in deep trouble. AND some basics could be taught. It would be good for humans to develop, early on,  respect for the idea of parenting, so they get that it is the biggest job, the most epic responsibility, the most important thing they will ever do.

Dr. Felitti has said many times that working to improve the quality of parenting in communities is the most proactive thing we can do to eliminate adverse childhood experiences.  Perhaps you could ask your guests about this or steer the conversation in that direction?
