Listen: Trauma-Informed Workplaces with Sandra L. Bloom, M.D.

"Trauma-informed workplaces offer a sanctuary of safety and support, a place where people can bring their whole selves and be valued for who they are." - Sandra L. Bloom, M.D., CTIPP Board Chair, and Founder of Creating PRESENCE

What does it mean to be “trauma-informed,” and why should organizations make their workplace more trauma-informed? How can it improve a team member’s (and the organization’s!) well-being, safety, productivity, fulfillment, and growth? How do you build, implement, and sustainably maintain trauma-informed workplaces? Who is responsible for such endeavors within the organization? How do I get started?

We aim to answer those questions and more with our podcast on creating and maintaining trauma-informed workplaces, featuring CTIPP’s Board Chair, Sandra L. Bloom, M.D.

This is a terrific, profound, vitally important interview with one of the founders of the movement. Whitney Marris and Jesse Kohler have an incredible conversation with Dr. Sandra Bloom, whose wisdom, experience, brilliance, humility, humor and humanity inspire, uplift and challenge us to do all we can to save all creatures on this fragile island home we call earth. How she ties our ability to adapt -- a blessing and a curse -- to how society has become sicker and sicker and more and more cruel, is something we must all learn if we are to understand why we must raise our voices together to demand change. Now.

I love listening to Dr. Bloom. Her interview on the PACEs Connection History. Culture. Trauma. podcast last March is also one of my favorite episodes of that podcast series.

Sandra Bloom has a lot to say, truths to tell, and Jesse and Whitney know how to ask just the right brief questions to empower and facilitate some incredible and pertinent story telling, science sharing, "aha" moments that make sense of so much of our current societal unravelling.

The best thing? There are solutions. CTIPP and PACEs Connection are focused on the workplace as a focal point of bringing change. CTIPP delivers with an incredible toolkit introduced during this podcast. PACEs Connection has a Healing-Centered Workplaces conference coming up in June.

The work of making work kinder, saner, less cruel? It's up to us; we now have some tools to help, with more on the way.
