Learning to Spot Human Trafficking's Child Victims [medpagetoday.com]

National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Partners for Vulnerable Youth is hoping to educate healthcare providers on the warning signs for human trafficking of children in a series of three continuing education courses.

"Human Trafficking 101" is the first course, which will attempt to educate providers not only about signs that a child may be a victim of human trafficking, but also to recognize situations that make children particularly vulnerable to human trafficking predators.

The second module, which will be released in summer 2018, will be a deeper dive into the role of pediatric healthcare providers in identifying these victims, and the third one in fall 2018 will focus on provider interventions and preventive efforts.
