Isla Vista Youth Projects & Family Service Agency in the Media: Adjusting Amid COVID-19

Linked here is an article by Cynder Sinclair, Noozhawk Columnist, sharing how local nonprofits are adjusting and continuing to service their community amid coronavirus. Featured in the article are two of Resilient Santa Barbara County's very own community partner organizations: Isla Vista Youth Projects and the Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara County.

The piece features an interview with Lori Goodman, Executive Director of Isla Vista Youth Projects (IVYP) on how they have remained resilient during COVID-19. While touching on the struggles that the virus has presented IVYP, Goodman highlighted how her organization is committed to flattening the curve and, still, remaining resilient in this tough time.

Sinclair also interviewed Lisa Brabo, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara County (FSA) on how they have been handling the virus. Brabo shared about the shift FSA has made to remote communication as well as the connections that FSA has made and maintained amid the virus.

Lori Goodman and Lisa Brabo offered other nonprofits words of encouragement through this time, each of them making a point to urge folks to practice self-care in this tough time. Thank you, Lori and Lisa, for sharing your stories of resilience and for all of the incredible work you and your organizations are continuing to do!
