"By the time an individual is sent to the Iowa Juvenile home, most have had multiple failed treatment attempts. The Iowa Juvenile home is a last resort for most troubled girls. Many of the individuals there have been exposed to and witnessed violence. The re-traumatization of individuals should be a concern for anyone providing treatment. The excessive use of restraint and seclusion would not be a helpful treatment technique for highly traumatized youth....
