Dear friends, My name is Julie Brand. I am new to ACEs Connection but definitely NOT new at ACEs. I am however very new at blogging. Please be patient with me.
When I was a little girl a psychiatrist told my mother there was no use bringing me anymore because I wouldn’t talk... I guess my silence wasn’t loud enough. When I was a teenager another therapist told me: “If You can’t talk about it then write about it.” Years later I began writing. This book was written with hopes of helping parents, therapist, doctors and teachers see the signs, hear the silence, and recognize the symptoms in the eyes of a child.
I am an adult survivor of adverse childhood experiences. My name is Julie Brand. My nom de plume or pen name is Julia Kastle. “In the Eyes of Innocence” can be downloaded on Smashwords.com. It is a series of short stories and will soon be a completed novel. It is also what set me free.
Synopsis: What children see, hear and experience molds them into the adults they become. What the Grant children see, hear and experience molds them into adults perfectly positioned to fall for the seduction of — drug and alcohol addiction and the chaotic world of mental illness.
