IMPACT: the action of one object coming forcibly into contact with another. have a strong effect on someone or something.
Often teachers, educators, healthcare providers and friends what to better understand the IMPACT of ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) on children, in their classroom, in their family, in their community.
Well the short answer is the IMPACT of ACES is different for each child and ultimately each adult. The human mind and nervous system are complex and very interactive. So depending on the age, significance of the event(s), number of events and duration of events the impact can be intense and long lasting, subtle or not obvious initially and show up in adulthood.

If you have not read about it or taken the screener, it will help build your awareness of your ACES and those of others. If you have a strong emotional reaction to the study you may have experienced ACES and have buried those emotions. You may want to work with a Trauma Informed Therapist or Coach.
