Tony Moayyer is a survivor.

He survived the Iran-Iraq War as a child, when he saw bombs dropping, bodies blown up, a best friend who fatally shot himself after he was raped.

He survived permanent separation from his mother at age 11, when he and his father immigrated to America and the Iranian government forced her to stay behind.
