Even in a legislative body in which gridlock too often stalls progress, leaders from both sides of the aisle recently recognized the value in extending critical help to vulnerable families, and saving taxpayer money in the long term.
Congress recently passed a measure that includes a six-month extension of funding for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting, or MIECHV, program. We will continue to work with states, stakeholders, and advocates to push for a longer-term reauthorization of the home visiting program.
