Screen Shot 2021-02-08 at 10.53.18 AMDr. Warren Larkin and Becky Haas have been collaborating and sharing their experiences of promoting trauma informed practice and systems change for the last two years. Warren is based in the North West of England and Becky lives in Tennessee in the United States and yet their work has a remarkable degree of alignment.  Both Warren and Becky are seasoned presenters on this science, as well as they both are focused on helping organizations and communities to find ways to imbed it into practice.

During 2020 as trauma was being experienced globally due to COVID-19, Warren and Becky decided to partner together to accelerate addressing other forms of trauma that in the past have not been as publicly recognized as the pandemic by launching a global Resiliency Accelerator.  The goal of this accelerator will be to encourage existing ACEs communities Screen Shot 2021-02-08 at 10.53.32 AMin their work or help to identify new ACEs advocates in as many nations as possible.  As a result of their combined work, they have already had conversations with interested professionals in Australia, Germany, Lithuania, England, the Balkans, and New Zealand.

This first Accelerator will be a 90-minute event on February 24 at 12 p.m. (EST) and 5 p.m. (GMT) can be joined by registration only (there are a limited number of spaces).  The meeting agenda will include:

Warren will share his perspectives on why systems change is essential in order to prevent and mitigate the impacts of childhood adversity and to transform the health and wellbeing of future generations. He will go on to share the TASC Model (Trauma Aware Systems Change) as a way of conceptualizing the key areas for cross-sector partnership and action.

Nationally recognized as a pioneer for creating trauma informed communities, Becky Haas will be sharing her experience of seeing regional acceptance of ACEs as a social determinant to health within rural Appalachia and the steps taken that can be replicated by cities around the world. She will also give examples of advocating for trauma informed care, educating professional sectors and collaborating with your stakeholders.

Following the presentation there will a time of Q&A and depending on the number of attendees, possibly include brief introductions of those joining the call.

Those attending will receive a short survey following the event asking how this Accelerator  could serve them best in the future and to determine the frequency with which it will continue to meet.  You may register for this event at:  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e...tickets-131497300967
