Filmmakers hope to find ways to reduce Saginaw violence during discussion workshop - Michigan

"Dr. Stephanie Baiyasi-Kozicki, left, and Dr. Zigmond Kozicki, the filmmakers behind the recently completed documentary, "Saginaw Rising," will host the Saginaw Area Leaders Violence Prevention Workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at The Bradley House Theatre inside First Congregational Church, 403 S. Jefferson, in Saginaw.

Participants of the invite-only event will watch clips of the film and discuss Saginaw's "community norm" and how it relates to violence....

Objectives of the discussion session are to:...

• Identify what can be done in Saginaw to overcome adverse childhood experiences and domestic violence

• Begin to develop a strategy to change community norms regarding violence..."
