Expert calls for education of policy makers on violence - Botswana

"Levers said that crimes like rape, murder, robbery, divorce and incest leads to psychological problems like depression, loneliness, stress, confusion, anxiety, fear, burning of schools as a result of anger, disobedience and aggression. She said a study conducted in America between 2005 and 2008 proved that there is a link between adverse childhood traumatic experiences and early death. It is therefore important for policy makers to realise that there is need for action to combat outcomes of violence, more especially that it has a direct impact on the development of children...."
