Effort to stop child abuse calls on 'power of one' - Omaha

"The Mills County Prevent Child Abuse Council is promoting the “power of one” in a new campaign to reduce and prevent harm toward children.

“One person can step up and make a huge change in our community,” said Sheri Bowen, Mills County Public Health administrator and a member of the council. “We want people to be aware of steps they can take.”

The initiative encourages every citizen to take responsibility for providing support and assistance to parents. The goal is to stop child abuse and neglect before it occurs, according to the council...."
