Dealing with childhood trauma could be possible solution to city’s violence [SoundCloud.com]

As another summer slowly comes to an end, one thing remains, the amount of lives lost due to the violence has plagued city leaders and community members. When we talk about how to shift this violent paradigm, some wonder if the answer starts at childhood. Could confronting childhood trauma from the start prevent a violent future? We talk with Marshaun Bacon of Youth Guidance’s Becoming a Man Program (B.A.M.) and Bryan Samuels, Executive Director at The University of Chicago’s Chapin Hall, about the impact trauma can have on a child’s behavior and the effects adverse childhood experiences have on our schools and communities.
