Fabulous!! How did this article come about, Becky?
Hey Jane!
The Press has followed our ACEs work since 2015 reporting on it about once or twice a year in some way. When they reached out for an interview I really thought it was because of the toolkit Andi and I just wrote for the state (Mary Rolando is working to get the toolkit published by the state and Iāll share it on ACES as soon as itās available). The reporter mentioned to me heād also interviewed Dr. Sumrock for the piece and I told him, āyou really did your homework on this topic if you included Dr. Sumrock.ā Well lo and behold when the article came out yesterday as the headlines, Dr. Sumrock contacted me and said heād hoped Iād not minded him telling the Press to include an interview with me or Andi in the piece - so thatās how it happened. We are just thrilled about the story and making headlines! This area is so hungry for this message so this news piece is the perfect Segway into a project Iām working on with three city Mayors, their respective United Ways and the TN Commission on Children and Youth to make ACE Awareness Month Proclamations followed by a screening of Resilience and a few weeks later a two hour training for city, civic, business and faith leaders.
