CTIPP is Hiring a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Consultant

CTIPP is seeking to hire a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) consultant for a 6-month period beginning late-June 22 with work scope completion by mid-December 2022. 

CTIPP’s Mission:

To create a healthy, just, resilient, and trauma-informed society where all individuals, families, and communities have the social, political, cultural, economic, and spiritual opportunities and support necessary to thrive.

CTIPP’s Goals:

1.) To inform and advocate for public policies and programs at the federal, state, tribal, and local levels that incorporate scientific findings regarding the relationship between trauma and related social, economic, cultural, and health challenges across the lifespan.

2.) To work in collaboration with individuals, large and small organizations, government, academic institutions, businesses, and more to dismantle oppression – including but not limited to racism, classism, sexism, transphobia/homophobia, and ableism – to develop trauma-informed, healing-centered, prevention-focused, and evidence-informed policies and practices that promote healthy and resilient communities.

CTIPP’s DEIJ Committee (DEIJC) is charged with advising CTIPP on DEIJ considerations related to its internal policies and procedures as well as its public policy process and practice recommendations. This work aims to ensure that CTIPP’s agenda and priorities reflect its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

The DEIJ Consultant will:

Work with CTIPP leadership and DEIJC to conduct an organizational readiness assessment and develop a proposal with clear and direct recommendations for a multi-year Equity Action Plan.  Activities to support this effort may include:

  • Working with the DEIJC to understand CTIPPs current strengths and areas needing improvement to refine the organization’s efforts to recruit and retain diverse voices to the board and within the organization. 
  • Working with the CTIPP leadership to identify mechanisms to have all committees of CTIPP embed a DEIJ lens to policies, practices, decision making, communications, strategy, and overall Board processes and governance.
  • Review and make recommendations on how to monitor and measure DEIJ goals for CTIPP and recommend a method for regular feedback specific to DEIJ and TIC.
  • Recommend ways to promote shared language and understanding of DEIJ work.
  • Work with DEIJC to develop messaging about the intersection of DEIJ and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC).

Suggested start date: June 15, 2022

Deliverables: Final report/presentation to CTIPP Board of Directors by December 2022

Compensation: $15,000 for completed project scope of work.

The ideal candidate for this position should have previous experience with DEIJ assessment/mapping, training, and infrastructure development. A working knowledge of TIC and experience working with nonprofit Boards is also helpful. Knowledge of organizational theory, human resources, community engagement, and advocacy groups is also appreciated.
