Responding to a need after receiving a two-year, $3.5 million contract from the state of Missouri, Cornerstones of Care held a ribbon cutting and reception for the opening of a regional resource office in Maryville Wednesday that will help the organization provide services for 30 northern Missouri counties, including five counties in extreme northwest Missouri.
The Cornerstones of Care regional resource office is located at 1212B South Main, and shares the building with Community Services, Inc. Current Cornerstones resource development manager Valyn McClellan will head up the Maryville office.
“We received a $3.5 million two-year contract from the State of Missouri to recruit, train, license and support foster care homes for 30 Missouri counties,” said Carol Grimaldi, Cornerstones’ Public Engagement and Advocacy manager. “Support is the key step to the process, so we needed a presence in Northwest Missouri. Maryville turned out to be a great spot to open a regional resource office.”
