Childhood trauma spurred San Pablo [CA] chief to career in law enforcement [MercuryNews.com]

We have all heard of the stories of support and encouragement that have enabled an individual to grow into the person they are today ā€“ a teacher who tutors a lower performing student who then becomes a teacher; the nurse who gives incredible care to a patient who then advocates on their behalf.  But what about a person who experiences trauma and then wants to do something about it for others?  This is the case for San Pablo [CA]  Police Chief Lisa Rosales.  As a child, she was witness to incredible trauma in her community.  However, this trauma actually brought community members and law enforcement together as one, thereby motivating her to pursue a career doing the same.  As the first female and Latina police chief in her city, this interview with Chief Rosales highlights her as a shining example of resilience and dedication to her community.
