You are welcome Carey, Such cases are generally severely under-reported because the victims have been brainwashed to say nothing or have been threatened with dire consequences if they speak up.

Thanks for posting this startling, heartbreaking ans sobering report.

U.S. mishandling of the pandemic has likely extended its grip and the consequences of it worldwide, as had we led and modeled leadership, perhaps things would be different. Perhaps.

In the meantime, we know numbers are up for child abuse in the US.
The long-term impact of the pandemic will stretch into generations.
With every decision that is made leaders need to be asking, “Is it good for the children.”

The health and wellbeing of children needs to be the KEY indicator of the health of a nation. Not the stock market or the Gross Domestic Product.

Prioritize the health and wellbeing of children and mothers and all the other indicators are likely to go up as well. It may take a while. And if our people truly are our most valuable resources, then protecting and providing babies in utero, infants, children should be our highest priority, at home and worldwide.

Children who have secure attachments and safe, stable, nurturing environments are free to succeed, create, excel. Without poverty, inequity, racism, classism and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), children are a lot less likely to become school shooters, white supremacists, or perpetuators of second- or third-generation ACEs.
