Child poverty can be alleviated

"Over the last 20 years, researchers have discovered yet another insidious effect of poverty on children: Adverse childhood experiences are often a contributing cause of serious medical conditions, anything from anxiety and depression to diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The science clearly shows that while positive experiences can enhance early brain development, traumatic or adverse experiences can stunt its development, causing a lifetime of distress.
