"The Summit was opened by former Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Stratton, who left the court last year so that she could devote more time to her passion of helping people with mental illness and addiction involved in court systems gain access to treatment. The keynote speaker Dr. Vincent J Felitti, the co-principal investigator of the internationally recognized Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study , a long-term , in-depth, retrospective analysis of over 17,000 adults that revealed a powerful relationship between our emotional experiences as children and our physical and mental health as adults gave a good foundation for us to build on the remainder of the day as we considered what Ohio’s role is now can be as it grows into a trauma informed state at every level...."
