The students were perched around a table inside Millennium High School in Brooklyn, listening intently as their guest spoke of the maladies and pangs of adolescence.

“It doesn’t matter what anybody else is dealing with,” Chiara de Blasio told the group. “You know if you’re in pain, or uncomfortable, or stressed. I really encourage all of you to not doubt yourselves, and not doubt what kind of support you can use.”

There were nods throughout the room, and Ms. de Blasio, the 20-year-old daughter of Mayor Bill de Blasio, sat back in her chair.
