Call For Workshop and Poster Submissions: Third Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference

The 3rd Annual Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference: Promoting Equitable Access to High Quality Services for Vulnerable Children and Families, will be held on Thomas Jefferson University's East Falls Philadelphia Campus July 29th-August 1st, 2019.  This unique training conference will provide an intensive, collaborative, and engaging experience to providers, educators, and leaders across health, education, and social service disciplines, as well as to community members invested in promoting the health of their families, neighborhoods, and cities.

The conference planning committee is requesting submissions for 90-minute workshop sessions, as well as poster submissions.

Workshop proposals should focus on  promoting equitable access to high quality services for vulnerable children and families through: (1) Community Engagement; (2) Clinical Application; and/or (3) Policy and Advocacy.

Sessions must be congruent with the conference theme and have implications for community-based trauma-focused work. The conference aims to enhance competencies in interprofessional practice. Sessions that have an interprofessional focus are strongly encouraged. Presenters will be asked to identify if their workshop proposal best fits programming for (1) providers seeking advanced trauma competencies and knowledge, (2) participants seeking foundational trauma training, or (3) community and family members.

Poster guidelines will be sent to accepted submitters upon acceptance.

Please visit this link (http://bit.ly/2019_PTTC_Submissions) to submit a workshop or poster proposal.  Submission Deadline: March 1, 2019

We hope you will consider joining us for this inspiring and engaging event. Please feel free to pass this along to others who may be interested in attending and/or submitting proposals.  We look forward to learning about your work!

Best,

The Philadelphia Trauma Training Conference Planning Committee

Hello Neal, I'd like to present/perform at this event - Let Michael Talk At Your Next Meeting - http://www.mskinnermusic.com/h...l-talk-next-meeting/

FYI - three videos are posted at my You Tube channel from March 2018, in Philly - Michael Skinner - Survivor Knights Event, The Rotunda, Philadelphia, PA - "Sorrow", A song written for everyone who has been told to, "get over it", "it's in the past", etc... - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaFeVVomajY

"The 9:30 Train", Sometimes we push away all the right people for all the wrong reasons.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQwOQBNpaWA

& "Songs For The Keys To Your Life" - I'd like to share a live performance, of a song of mine; the meaning to a song is in the ears of the listener, so however this songs touches you, that is for you. For me, the song serves a few purposes, [1], it 'sings out' to my friends [self included] who have neglected our creative gifts, for whatever the reason, and [2], it also conveys the sadness I have felt as I have performed across this country and met countless folks whose lives have been impacted by trauma, abuse & mental health concerns and how those challenges have negated their own creativity. How to encourage folks to pursue and support them in their creative endeavors is something we should all strive to help with. "Dare to reach out your hand into the darkness, to pull another hand into the light." Norman B. Rice - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mdj66GX34HQ

Take care, Michael Skinner
