As I look forward to the upcoming 67 Annual Conference of the Association of Children's Residential and Community Service in May, there are some aspects that I am extremely excited about. While there are a number of fantastic keynotes and presenters, the work of Lisa Cherry, MA truly resonates. She is one of the keynote presenters kicking off the conference on Wednesday May 17.. Her combination of professional research and personal experience will result in a fantastic experience for all participants, and the clients they serve.
Much of the conference emphasizes the importance of belonging, both for the youth and families we work with, and for staff, who are often asked to perform some of the most difficult tasks with challenging clients. The conference is both in-person in Minneapolis and virtual, with the added value that all registrants will have access to recordings conference presentations and selected keynotes for up to 30 days, which means you don't have to agonize over session selection for fear of missing something great!
