"The bond between human and household pet is unconditional love and security. When that bond is broken, by either witnessing or participating in, animal abuse, that act desensitizes the person to violence and causes them to distance them self from emotional empathy. This distancing can result in more and more serious crimes as time goes on, and the condition goes unchecked.
